Puppet Training for Sustainable Minds is one of our flagship initiatives designed to inspire young people (ages 10-25) in Jordan about environmental issues and the importance of sustainable living. Through engaging puppet shows, open theatre performances, and workshops, this project brings environmental education to life.
Key Activities:
- Engaging Puppet Shows: Performances center around puppet characters that explain key environmental issues such as recycling, renewable energy, biodiversity, and climate change. Using humor and relatable storytelling, we simplify complex topics to ensure young audiences can understand and act on them.
- Workshops & Training Sessions: We conduct capacity-building workshops for youth, artists, and educators, empowering them to create their own sustainability-focused puppet shows or theatre performances.
- Community Outreach: Beyond performances, we partner with schools and universities to integrate sustainable practices into everyday routines. Our hands-on workshops teach participants how to reduce waste, conserve energy, and support local biodiversity efforts.
- Social Media Campaigns: To reach a broader audience, we share educational videos, behind-the-scenes content, and interactive eco-challenges on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. These campaigns help us extend the message beyond the stage.
Impact & Reach:
- Educated 200 school students and 100 university students in sustainability
- Reached over 75,000 individuals through interactive social media campaigns.
- Partnered with local environmental experts to ensure our performances align with Jordan’s sustainability goals and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption).
